The diving areas around Port d’Andratx are an insider tip on Mallorca. The fantastic cliffs are home to outstanding diving spots for beginners and professionals alike. From grottos, caves and two small wrecks to the marine reserve “Isla Dragonera”, you will find everything the Mediterranean has to offer under and above water. We have over 30 different dive sites, which is almost unique in Mallorca.
Below you will find a small selection of our dive sites with a description of the underwater world.

The “Barracuda Reef” (Spanish: Arrecife = reef) offers three different anchorages and therefore routes! Located directly at “Cap La Mola”, an extensive plateau stretches along the steep and impressive cliffs. This “terrace” offers an incredible abundance of fish. Shoals of two-banded bream, golden stripe, mullet and monk fish make their rounds between huge boulders, small niches and crevices.
After the edge of this platform, which is almost exactly 12 meters deep, an inclined slope quickly leads to a depth of 30 – 40 meters. This makes this spot ideal for all levels and experience levels!
There are also some boulders on this “slope”, where large lobsters, Mediterranean moray eels, octopus, various species of nudibranchs and crabs can regularly be spotted. The “highlight” there – as the name suggests – is a huge and almost always present school of barracudas. 200 to 400 barracudas have already been encountered and are either in a large, circling shoal or directly above the sloping bottom.
When approached slowly, they show little shyness and sometimes swim directly in front of the mask glass. An unforgettable experience!
S'Aguilot
Peñon S'Aguilot
Also in the bay of S’Aguilot is a striking rock that protrudes far out of the water and widens into an imposing rock massif underwater. This pillar (Spanish peñon = the rock) gives the dive site its name.
A very simple but beautiful spot that everyone – from beginners to professionals – will love. At the beginning, an archway with a variety of vegetation invites you to dive through the rock towards the outer edge. Small groupers, scorpion fish and beautiful anemones can be admired.
A large seagrass meadow opens up on the outside, containing the remains of a wreck and the dwellings of local moray eels and conger eels. There are countless niches and crevices along the rock and the search for scorpionfish, octopus, nudibranchs, crustaceans and much more can begin.
On a beautiful, sun-drenched plateau in the shallower area, shoals of two-banded bream, golden stripe and often large groups of barracudas can be observed at close range. During night dives, large numbers of hunting octopus and cuttlefish and various species of scorpionfish are regularly encountered.
The "Punta Galinda" grotto
This large and very easy to dive grotto is fascinating underwater due to its extraordinary rock formations and washouts.
Large round stones have rubbed almost circular holes into the rock over thousands of years and the walls form ideal hiding places for octopuses and a habitat for a wide variety of snail species.
The “highlight” is the wonderful view from the darker end of the grotto towards the azure blue exit. The sunlight creates an almost surreal curtain of rays of fascinating beauty.
The dive begins with a very varied underwater landscape in front of the entrance to the cave and offers a beautiful archway to dive through, lots of rocks and large areas of seagrass.
Isla Dragonera
This large offshore island is a nature reserve and exudes a special fascination. Steep slopes and impressive rock formations form the habitat for the large grouper, huge schools of barracuda and beautiful groups of golden stripe and many, many monk fish. Large numbers of octopus, moray eels and conger sea eels, as well as a large number of different nudibranchs are also represented in all Mediterranean shapes and colors.
The dive sites CAP DE TRAMUNTANA, CAP DE LLEBEITX, ARRECIFE BELLAVISTA and many more speak for themselves and provide optimal conditions for divers of all levels. A wonderful experience not only under water, as the island of Dragonera is not called the “Sleeping Dragon” for nothing. The beauty of the cliffs is breathtaking!
With our offshore inflatable boat, we can easily reach the various spots around the island of Dragonera in a maximum of 15 minutes.
